LED Binning with Gigahertz-Optik’s LED Tester

Slight differences in LED characteristics can occur as a result of mass production. To catalog the parts LEDs are commonly sorted into bin classes based on their luminous flux and color properties. The LED manufacturer may do the binning or the party implementing the LEDs may self-bin them. The LED is normally operated and measured in single pulse mode with a few millisecond long pulse width at a specified operating current.
Gigahertz-Optik GmbH has developed the BTS256-LED tester and LPS-20-1500 LED power supply a cost effective measurement system for single pulse binning.
