Radiant Power Measurements
Radiant power is the total optical radiation emitted by a source in all directions and is measured in watts (W). Since the output from lamps, LEDs & co, is normally uncollimated (not emitted in parallel beam) and diverging, the detector must be configured to acquire all of the output signal independent of its spatial distribution. Detectors can be mounted to integrating spheres or goniometer systems to accomplish this.
