Optometers

  • Optometers are multimeters that can be configured with one or more detectors for different applications. Lightmeters consist of an optometer and a detector for a specific measurement application.
The rise time of a signal amplifier depends on the RC time constant and the amplifier‘s integration time. Amplifiers with variable integration times enable the adjustment of the integration time to the measurement application.
The CW measurement mode provides instantaneous information that is continuously refreshed and displayed. The noise ratio of the CW signal can be classified as the peak to peak deviation for additional information.
The dose measurement mode integrates the CW measured radiation as a function of measurement time.
The pulse energy measurement mode is a special form of dose measurement used for short length light flashes (pulses).
In the data logger measurement mode all measured data within a measurement interval is stored for permanent record or for pulse profile analysis.
The luminous intensity measurement mode supports the conversion of measured illuminance (lx) into luminous intensity (cd) using the detector to source distance.
The effective luminous intensity measurement mode calculates the effective luminous intensity of a light flash from the measured luminous intensity using either the Blondel-Ray or Schmitt-Clausen method.
