UPK-150 Integrating Sphere for Light
Intensity, Reflectance, Transmittance,
Photoluminescence and other Applications
150mm diameter integrating spheres are the most commonly used size in measurement of light and measurement with light applications because of their good light throughput and sphere design criteria relationship.
The UPK-150 integrating sphere is ODM98 coated1). The 150mm diameter integrating sphere with 25mm diameter measurement port offers high light throughput required in light sensitive applications within the spectral range from 250nm to 2500nm. Its unique collar baffle design greatly avoids direct illumination of the detector port from the light input port in a conventional 90° port position sphere design. The baffle also makes it possible to operate up to 3 detectors or fiber light guide connectors on the sphere at the same time. The detector ports provides an interface for direct mounting of Gigahertz-Optik’s PD-11, TD-11 and VL-11 type light detectors and UFC-11 type fiber connectors. In the standard set-up the sphere is useful in light intensity measurement applications. For other applications the sphere body can be modified with additional auxiliary ports, sample holder and other components for custom individual measurement set-ups for reflectance, transmittance, photoluminescence and others. Gigahertz-Optik’s calibration laboratory offers traceable spectral radiant power sensitivity calibration in the wavelength range from 250nm to 1800nm2).
1) ODM98 (OP.DI.MA.) is a light and temperature resistant synthetic coating with very high reflectivity in the ultraviolet to near infrared spectral range with an almost perfect diffuse reflectance characteristic. Used in integrating spheres it offers high light throughput, long life even in UV applications, low self-fluorescence and almost perfect light distribution in a compact size sphere.
2) Attached detector spectral responsivity range dependent.
