P-9710-2 Optometer
ISD-5P-SiIGA-2 Laser Power Detector

The highly efficient P-9710-2 optometer in combination with the ISD-5PSiIGA-2 integrating detector forms a measurement instrument for the measurement of continuous wave (CW) mode or short pulse mode lasers such as femtosecond lasers in the wide wavelength range from 400 to 1800nm. The ISD-5P-SiIGA-2 is built with a 50mm diameter integrating sphere with 12.5mm measurement port and synthetic ODM98 coating. Two photodiode detectors one silicon and one Indium Gallium Arsenide are assembled onto the sphere. The sphere with both detectors is calibrated for spectral radiant power sensitivity in W from 400 to 1800nm in 10nm wavelength steps. The calibration is traceable to international standards. The P-9710-2 optometer is a highly efficient single-channel instrument to readout and display the measurement values of one of the ISD-5P-SiIGA-2 detectors. The unique feature of the P-9710-2 is its detector head calibration data connector which stores all data pertaining to a light detector head including model and serial number and calibration data. When plugged into the meter, this data is automatically transmitted and the light meter is ready to go. This feature allows both of the ISD-5P-SiIGA-2 detectors to be measured with the P-9710-2 with minimal set-up time. The optometer features an amplifier configuration optimized with gain range independent rise time for CW measurement as well as the measurement of short light flashes by the pulse stretching method. Short light events with pulse length much shorter that the meters rise time e.g. femto second pulses can be measured. The P-9710’s wide signal range of 0.1pA to 2mA with eight manually or automatically selected gain ranges covers the dynamic range of the both photodiodes in use. The maximum error within this wide dynamic range is 0.2 % through traceable calibrations of each range. A bi-directional RS232 serial interface allows external remote control. A PC software is optional offered. The meter is battery (rechargeable) or AC operated.
