P-9710-1 Optometer
ISD-15P-Si-2 Laser Power Integrating Sphere Detector

The highly efficient single-channel P-9710-1 optometer in combination with the ISD-15P-Si-2 detector forms a measurement instrument for high power laser diodes and lasers. The ISD-15P-Si-2 is built with a 150mm diameter integrating sphere with synthetic ODM98 coating with 25mm measurement port and a temperature stabilized silicon photodiode detector. Its large acceptance angle enables the measurement of laser and laser diodes with dispersed and large diameter beams and reduces the need for perpendicular alignment of the laser to the detector. Also the sphere method of measurement avoids the adverse effects of diffuse re-reflected radiation on the laser resonance chamber normally associated with planar detectors. The sphere with detector is calibrated for spectral radiant power sensitivity in W from 400 to 1100nm in 10nm wavelength steps. The calibration is traceable to international standards. Its compact size and high-level technical and functional features characterize the P-9710-1 as both laboratory grade instrument and field service meter. A unique feature of the P-9710-1 is its detector head calibration data connector which stores all data pertaining to a light detector head including model and serial number and calibration data. When plugged into the meter, this data is automatically transmitted and the light meter is ready to go. This ability to use the P-9710-1 optometer with an unlimited range of light detectors in combination with more than sixteen functional measurement modes enables the user to specify light sources in different ways. The P-9710’s wide signal range of 0.1pA to 2mA with eight manually or automatically selected gain ranges covers the dynamic range of most current semiconductor photodiodes used in light detector heads. The maximum error within this wide dynamic range is 0.2 % through traceable calibrations of each range. The P-9710-1 offers a fast sample rate ADC combined with a adjustable integration time of up to 6 seconds formed by the average of multiple measurements with 100µs integration time. This averaging feature support fast data logger measurements used in peak-peak, short pulse energy measurements and others. A bi-directional RS232 serial interface allows external remote control. A PC software is optional offered. The meter is battery (rechargeable) or AC operated.
