Radiant Intensity Measurements
Irradiance detectors such as Gigahertz-Optik’s UV-37 series and RW-37 series can also be used to measure radiant intensity in W/sr by conversion of the measured irradiance value in W/m² or W/cm² into the relevant radiant intensity units by calculation using the square of the distance between the light source and the detector. All detectors offer a spectral match to common wavelength range. They are supplied with a 2m long coaxial cable with selectable –1, -2 or -4 type connector for use with Gigahertz-Optik’s range of optometers. Calibration of irradiance in W/m² and W/cm² is performed at Gigahertz-Optik’s Calibration Laboratory for Optical Radiation Quantities.
