The UV-37 series Irradiance detectors are compact 37mm diameter detectors with wavelength selective spectral responsivities within the ultraviolet spectrum. Several models with different spectral responses are available. All detectors are supplied with a diffuser window and shadow ring for cosine response field of view. The relevant components of the detector are UV aged prior to calibration to minimize degradation in long term use under UV radiation. The detectors are supplied with a 2m long coaxial cable with selectable -1, -2 or -4 type connector for use with Gigahertz-Optik’s range of optometers. Calibration of UV irradiance in Wm² and W/cm² within the specified spectral sensitivity range is performed at Gigahertz-Optik’s Calibration Laboratory for Optical Radiation Quantities.

UV-3701, UV-3702, UV-3703: These detectors represents the classic DIN and CIE ultraviolet radiation wavelength bands UV-A315-400 nm, UV-B280-315 nm and UV-C100-280 nm. The UV-3703 offers a practical UV-C solution with a sensitivity range from 250 to 280 nm since sources emitting deep UV radiation in the 100 to 250 nm range are rare and radiometry below 200nm requires a purged measurement environment since this radiation is readily absorbed in air. UV-3710, UV-3711: Some non-biological disciplines specify the wavelength ranges 320 to 400 and 280 to 320 nm for the evaluation of UV-A and UV-B radiation. The UV-3710 UV-A and UV-3711 UV-B irradiance detectors are designed for these applications.
UV-3716: The sharply increasing short-wave spectral component of modern lamps creates a potential risk of exposure of the eyes to excessive UV-A radiation. The limit values for E305–400 nm irradiance were established to limit the intensity this radiation on the retina as when optical fibres are used in eye operations (aphakic eye operation).
UV-3717: In applications where the UV-A irradiance must measured amidst intense blue & visible light, the UV-3701 and UV-3710 may not offer sufficient visible wavelength range signal rejection. This will produce an inaccurately high UV-A reading. A good example of this is fluorescent lamps which generate significant mercury lines at 405, 436, 546 and 577 nm. The UV-3717 is visible blind for best stray light rejection >400 nm.
UV-3719: This model offers a broadband spectral sensitivity from 250 to 390 nm.
