Photometric Illuminance and Luminous Color Detectors

The CT-4501 series detectors for photometric Illuminance and luminous color measurement are compact in size and offer fine CIE and DIN x, y and z matching spectral responsivities. The four detectors are located behind one common diffuser window with 10mm diameter. For photometric illuminance measurement the y sensor is used. Its f1’ specification of the V(λ) function for daylight vision of equal or better than 5% satisfies the requirements for a class B lux detector head according to DIN 5032 Part 7. The CT-4501-4 as a luminous color detector represents the classical RGB tristimulus color detector employing three filter corrected photodiodes in correlation with the Red, Green and Blue cones in the human eye. The color quantities are calculated by the ratio of the three detector signals. Gigahertz-Optik has improved the standard RGB technology by adding a fourth filtered photodiode into the detector for the x-short function for improved measurement uncertainty when measuring blue dominant light sources. Calibration of illuminance in lux and luminous color sensitivity is performed at Gigahertz-Optik’s Calibration Laboratory for Optical Radiation Quantities. Two different versions of the CT-4501 detector are available:
The CT-4501-1 is recommended for use with Gigahertz-Optik’s P-9801 optometer. It is provided with four coaxial cables with BNC connectors to be connected to four of the 8 channels of the P-9801.
The CT-4501-4 is used with Gigahertz-Optik’s X11, X12 and X1-PCBC light meters. It is also supplied with the HCT-99D luminous color meter. It offers a single shielded cable with -4 type connector.
Both detectors can be combined with the SRT series front lens and steradian tube adapters for luminance and luminous intensity measurements.
